Below are my comments on the Annual
Program Performance Report (OMB No. 0930-0169),
First, a stated goal for this year’s
PPR is to make the whole thing more
readable, but the section organization (e.g. Section 3A, 3B, 3B3, etc.) is a
little hard to follow. As all
the text is in the same font and not really set off or indented, it can be
difficult to track which section is
being worked with or referenced.
Second, another stated intention was
to lessen the reporting burden on
P&Asby only requiring one case example per priority as opposed
to goal. As it is currently
written on page 6, I don’t think that new system is clear. As written, the
PPR asks for ”case examples” in the plural, and talks about priority/goal
instead of just priority.
Finally, while Section 8I cites
to the statute 42 USC 10825, it
doesn’t elaborate on exactly what they want to know. This seems out of joint with the other
sections, where an effort has been made to both cite the statute and give a clear
explanation.
