Emergency Comment Request Emergency Solutions Grants Program

SUMMARY: The proposed information collection requirement described=20
below has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)=20
for review, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act. The Department=20
is soliciting public comments on the subject proposal.

DATES: Comments Due Date: March 5, 2012.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This notice informs the public that the=20
Department of Housing and Urban Development has submitted to OMB a=20
request for approval of the Information collection described below.=20
This notice is soliciting comments from members of the public and=20
affecting agencies concerning the proposed collection of information=20
to: (1) Evaluate whether the proposed collection of information is=20
necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency,=20
including whether the information will have practical utility; (2)=20
Evaluate the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the=20
proposed collection of information; (3) Enhance the quality, utility,=20
and clarity of the information to be collected; and (4) Minimize the=20
burden of the collection of information on those who are to respond;=20
including through the use of appropriate automated collection=20
techniques or other forms of information technology, e.g., permitting=20
electronic submission of responses.
    This notice also lists the following information:
    Title of Proposal: Emergency Solutions Grants Program.
    OMB Approval Number: 2506-0089.
    Form Numbers: HUD-4150.
    Description of the Need for the Information and Its Proposed Use:=20
This submission is to request a reinstatement with revisions of an=20
expired information collection for the reporting burden associated with=20
program and recordkeeping requirements that Emergency Solutions Grants=20
(ESG) program recipients will be expected to implement and retain. This=20
submission is limited to the reporting burden under the ESG entitlement=20
program, formerly titled, Emergency Shelter Grants Program and changed=20
to match the new program name created through the HEARTH Act. To see=20

The statutory provisions and the implementing=20
interim regulations (also found at 24 CFR part 576) that govern the=20
program require new program and recordkeeping requirements.
