CHRISTOPHER W. BURNS — FBI

Summary: Christopher W. Burns is a wanted fugitive accused of orchestrating a $10 million mail fraud scheme involving fake peer-to-peer lending investments. He has been missing since September 2020.

Christopher W. Burns is wanted by the FBI for his alleged involvement in a mail fraud scheme in Georgia that defrauded dozens of victims of at least $10 million. Burns, a former registered investment advisor, allegedly misled investors by claiming their money was placed in a collateral-backed peer-to-peer lending program, when in fact the collateral was either non-existent or significantly overvalued. He disappeared on September 24, 2020, one day before he was scheduled to surrender business documents to the Securities and Exchange Commission. A federal arrest warrant was issued on October 23, 2020. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
