Weight loss drugs | Medicare
Summary: Starting July 1, 2026, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program offers eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries access to specific GLP-1 weight loss drugs for a flat $50 monthly copayment.
The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge is a temporary program designed to provide affordable access to select GLP-1 weight loss medications, including Foundayo®, Wegovy®, and specific Zepbound® pens. Eligible participants must have Medicare Part D coverage, meet specific BMI and health condition criteria, and not currently receive GLP-1 drugs through their existing Medicare plan. The $50 monthly copayment is independent of standard Medicare deductibles or out-of-pocket limits and does not qualify for the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan. Participants must work with their healthcare provider to obtain a prescription and necessary prior authorization.
