HUD's submission
does not permit a thorough review of the information and
recordkeeping requirements imposed on program participants of the
Housing for the Elderly under sections 231 and 202 of the National
Housing Act. Interim approval is given until October 1981 so that
HUD may submit a complete package of related information
requirements for this program. HUD should validate its estimate of
the time and cost to respondents of meeting these requirements. HUD
should also consult with respondent representative groups on ways
to reduce the requiremen wherever practical. Further extensions
will not be considered without adequate evidence of public
consultation.
