Abstract: IRC SECTION 6416 ALLOWS A CREDIT OR REFUND OF THE MANUFACTURERS EXCISE TAX TO SELLERS WHO PAID THE TAX IF THE TAXABLE ARTICLE IS LATER SOLD TO A NONPROFIT EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION. SECTION 4041 ALLOWS AN EXEMPTION FROM THE TAX ON LIQUID FUEL SOLD TO A NONPROFIT EDUCATION ORGANIZATION. THIS FORM IS GIVEN TO THE SELLER BY THE NONPROFIT EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION TO ESTABLISH THE NON-TAXABLE TRANSACTION.
