Abstract: 26 U.S.C. 6011 REQUIRES THAT A TAX RETURN BE FILED BY ANY TAXPAYER WHO HAS TAXABLE INCOME. WHEN THE IRS RECEIVES A PAYMENT OR PAYMENTS FROM A TAXPAYER AND THE RETURN CANNOT BE LOCATED, LETTER 112C IS SENT TO TH TAXPAYER REQUESTING EITHER A COPY OF THE RETURN OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AS TO WHERE THE MONEY IS TO BE APPLIED.
