IN THE INTERIM HCFA SHOULD REVIE THESE REQUIREMENTS WITH THE INTENTION OF CONSOLIDATING SEVERAL RELATED DATA ELEMENTS. CONSIDERATION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO IDENTIFYING THE NATURE OF THE HANDICAP WHICH QUALIFIES A RECIPIENT AS SSI ELIGIBLE. ANY FUTUR CLEARANCE PACKAGE SHOULD INCLUDE INFORMATION ON HOW THESE DATA ELEMENT ARE USED BY THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS, WHICH STATES ARE IN FUL COMPLIANCE WITH THE MMIS REQUIREMENTS, AND STATE PERCEIVED UTILITY OF THE SYSTEM.
