Abstract: BASED ON A REVIEW OF THE INFORMATION SUBMITTED, FDA WILL MAKE DECISION ON ENTITLEMENT OF APPLICANTS TO THE BENEFITS AUTHORIZED BY THE ORPHAN DRUG ACT OF 1983. APPLICANTS WILL INCLUDE LARGE AND SMALL DRUG FIRMS AND CLINICAL RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS. THESE WILL SEEK TO OBTAIN FDA RECOMMENDATIONS ON ORPHAN DRUG PROTOCOLS OR FDA DESIGNATIONS OF AN ORPHAN DRUG.
