Abstract: THE FEDERAL POWER ACT REQUIRES EACH ELECTRIC UTILITY WHICH ESTABLISHES OR CHANGES RATES TO FILE SUCH RATES WITH FERC FOR APPROVAL. FERC USES DATA CONTAINED IN SUCH FILINGS TO ENSURE THAT THE RATES ARE JUST AND REASONABLE. FERC HAS ISSUED SPECIFIC POLICY AND GUIDELINES TO REDUCE THE NEED FOR ADDITIONAL DATA COLLECTIONS.
