with a revised justification demonstrating tangible progress
towards reducing the burden hours associated with the section 15
reporting system. If UMTA has not reduced the net burden by at
least 10% from current levels, it must describe in detail which
elemen it plans to delete to realize this 10% reduction, consistent
with statutory and other program objectives.

SECTION 15 OF THE UMT ACT OF 1964
MANDATES A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF ACCOUNT AND RECORDS, AND A REPORTING
SYSTEM FOR MASS TRANSIT OPERATORS TO ENABLE THE OPERATORS TO
COMPARE PERFORMANCE WITH PEERS AND TO ASSIST LOCAL, STATE AND
FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS AND GENERAL PUBLIC IN SETTING POLICY AND IN
MAKING INVESTMENT DECISIONS.
