THIS NEW SECTION REQUIRES THAT CREDIT
UNIONS NOTIFY THEIR MEMBERS OF ANY TERMINATION OF NON-NCUA
INSURANCE COVERAGE OF THEIR ACCOUNTS. ALTHOUGH NOT PART OF THE
PROPOSED RULE, COMMENT WAS REQUESTED ON THE REQUIREMENT. COMMENTERS
WERE FAVORABLE NOTING THAT MANY MEMBERS HAVE ACCOUNTS IN EXCESS OF
$100,000 ONLY BECAUSE OF NON-NCUA INSURANCE COVERAGE. HENCE, THE
REQUIREMENT WAS ADDED TO THE FINAL RULE.
