Approved through January 1989 to permit the collection of estimated income taxe reports, the last of which are due December 15, 1988. The addition of 624,240 burden hours to Form 1041-ES in order to save 185,802 hours for Form 8109 is not justified adequately. No later tha June 30, 1987, the Department should explain its rejection of the use Form 1041-ES and provide a summary of comments submitted by filers concerning the burden increases and decreases.
