Terms of Clearance: DURING THE PAST THREE MONTHS, OMB HAS REVIEWED APPROXIMATELY NINETY DATA COLLECTIONS THAT WILL POTENTIALLY BE AFFECTED BY THE CUSTOMS SERVICE PROJECT TO STREAMLINE AND AUTOMATE THE IMPORT ENTRY PROCESS -- THE "PAPERLESS" CUSTOMES ENTRY PROJECT. SEVERAL "FAST TRACK" PROGRAMS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BY 1990. OTHER PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN GIVEN A PROGRESS REPORTING SCHEDULE TAILORED TO THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO RESOLVE OUTSTANDING ISSUES. TO ASSURE A SMOOTH TRANSITION, APPROVALS FOR EXISTING DATA COLLECTIONS ARE BEING EXTENDED TO ACCOMMODATE ADDITIONAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT. DURING THE TERM OF THESE EXTENSIONS, OMB WILL MONITOR AGENCY PROGRESS TO DETERMINE IF OTHER ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED. SEE LETTER OF 5/31/89.

IF NOT, FCC NOTIFIES THE U.S. CUSTOMS SERVICE.
