ALTHOUGH THE FD&C ACT PROHIBITS
APPROVAL OF FOOD ADDITIVES, NEW ANIMAL DRUGS, AND COLOR ADDITIVES
THAT HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO INDUCE CANCE IN ANIMALS OR HUMANS, THERE
ARE EXCEPTIONS UNDER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS. SECTION 512 (D) (1) (H)
ALLOWS APPROVAL WHEN SUCH DRUGS WILL NOT ADVERSELY EFFECT THE
ANIMALS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY NO RESIDUE OF THE DRUG WILL BE FOUND
IN THE EDIBLE PORTIONS OF THE ANIMAL.

the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
