develops additional projects that evaluate the effectiveness of
alternative approaches to technology assessment such as small
working panels, the Delphi format, and the technology assessment
"forum". The objective of these comprehensive evaluations would be
the identification of the most effective means of obtaining medical
expert input for the formulation of physician practice
guidelines.

PILOT STUDY OF A VARIATION OF CONSENSUS DEVELOPMENT CALLED THE
"TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT AND PRACTICE GUIDELINES FORUM." THIS STUDY
IS A ONE TIME DATA COLLECTION EFFORT TO ASSESS THE VALIDITY AND
UTILITY OF THE FORUM APPROACH TO ASSESSING HEALTH CARE TECHNOLOGY.
