The Pretest for
this effort is approved for use through 5/93 under the condition
that the next submission for OMB review includes a comprehensive
analysis of the results of the pretest and the reliabili and
nonresponse characteristics of the instrument, particularly of new
questions in sections such as Assistive Devices (AD) and Medical
Devic (MD). Because questions in these sections are particularly
technical, recall, validity, and item nonresponse may be issues.
NCHS' pretest analysis should include reinterview statistics for
the most complicate risk behavior, health outcome, and health
services utilization questions that are new to this round of the
mortality follow-back.
