Abstract: AN INVESTIGATIONAL NEW ANIMAL DRUG APPLICATION IS REQUIRED UNDER 21 U.S.C. 360B(J) AND 21 CFR 511.1 TO PERMIT THE USE OF UNAPPROVED NEW ANIMAL DRUGS. SUCH INVESTIGATIONS ARE NEEDED TO OBTAIN DATA UPON THE BASIS OF WHICH THE DRUG'S SAFETY AND EFFECTIVENESS CAN BE DETERMINED.
