OTHER AGENCIES ASK APPLICANTS FOR FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT TO SUBMIT
INFORMATION ON EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PERSONAL BACKGROUND.
THIS INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY,
QUALIFICATIONS, AND FITNESS FOR FEDERAL JOBS AND ASSURE COMPLIANCE
WITH FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT LAWS. THE AUTOMATED PROCEDURES INCLUDE THE
TELEPHONE APPLICATION PROCESSING SYSTEM (TAPS) AND OCR
FORMS.
