The FCC is to be
congratulated for incorporating the numerous public comments that
have been submitted on this collection. OMB strongly encourages the
FCC to adopt its proposed action to eliminate the requirements to
file this form for certain classes of vessels not required to carry
this equipment. The filing requirement, with its attendant fees,
serve as a disincentive to those who would otherwise carry this
important communications equipment.
