Assumes obligation for payment on
mortgaged property. Buyer may assume an FHA-insured mortgage by
becoming the substitute mortgagor through the credit approval
process. Prior to releasing a seller from liability on the note or,
for mortgages after 12/15/89, in order to assume an FHA-insured
mortgage, HUD or DE lender must review the credit of the assumptor
and record approval on form HUD-92210.
