This collection is required by the
Fastener Quality Act, Public Law 101-592, 15 U.S.C. 5407. The
purpose of the collection is to ensure that a fastener can be
traced to its manufacturer or private label distributor. The
information is used by the PTO to process applications for recordal
of insignias, and to maintain a database of recordal information
for use by the public. The public uses the information to trace a
fastener to its manufacturer or private label distributor. The
Bureau of Export Administration (BXA), at the Department of
Commerce, will also use the information for Fastener Quality Act
enforcement ...
