In February 1997, FDA proposed new
regulations that would simplify the label for most OTC drugs and
provide a consistent, easier to read format. The purpose of this
data collection is to provide an evaluation of the FDA proposed
format changes and to gather information about consumer preferences
for label design variations.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
