10 U.S.C. 504, 505, and 520(a)
establishes minimal standards for enlistment into the Armed Forces.
This information collection is necessary to gather information data
on applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. The DD form 369
Police Records Check is utilized to screen and identify applicants
who may have any discreditable involvement with the police or other
law enforcement agency. It is utilized to identify those applicants
who may be undesirable for military service or require a waiver to
enlist. It is initiated whenever an applicant indicates any type of
criminal involvement or arrest.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
