The bloodborne pathogen standard is an
occupational safety and health standard that will prevent
occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. The standard's
information collection requirements are essential components that
will protect employees from occupational exposure. The information
will be used by employers and employees to implement the protection
required by the standard. OSHA compliance officers will use some of
the information in their enforcement of the standard.
