Abstract: 35 U.S.C. 111, 112, and 113 and 37 CFR 1.51, 1.53, 1.71-1.75, 1.81, and 1.83-1.84 require that an application include certain information. Bibliographic information, which identifies the inventor, the application, and the person(s) responsible for prosecuting the application, is part of that data. To make it easier for the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) to enter the bibliographic information efficiently and accurately into the system and to enable the PTO to automate the data entry process, the PTO developed the "Patent Application Data Entry Format."
