In accordance
with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved for a 18
months. Should the Agency desire an extension of this approval, the
Agency must describe their efforts to reduce burden by providing
alternative means for requesting benefits and by investigating
other improvements in service delivery which will reduce burden on
respondents. The Agency is reminded that the current approval for
this information collection does not extend to the collection of
acreage reports currently required by the LDP program.

The Federal Agriculture Improvement
and Reform Act of 1996 provides for the making of loan deficiency
payments to eligible commodities. Forms required for requesting
these payments are used by producers requesting to obtain a loan
deficiency payment instead of a commodity loan on eligible
production. The completed application is used by State and county
FSA committees when reviewing a loan deficiency payment
request.
