In 1998, we received a 1-year OMB approval for the Health Assessment of Persian Gulf War Veterans from Iowa: Follow-Up Study on Asthma (0920-0425). Key personnel changes began to occur in July, which resulted in data collection being halted. The study coordinator, who was responsible for subject recruitment, as well as a respiratory therapist who was responsible for data collection, were both lost. Because of these set backs and the amount of time it takes to hire and train new staff, we are requesting additional time to complete this study.
