The Secretary of HHS is proposing to
revise the conditions for the use of narcotic drugs in maintenance
and detoxification treatment of opioid addiction. The proposed
included repeal of the existing narcotic treatment regulations
enforced by the Food and Drug Administration, the creation of a new
regulatory system based on an accreditation model under new 42 CFR
part 8, and a shift in administrative responsibility and oversight
from FDA to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration. This submission is for approval of the reporting,
recordkeeping, and disclosure requirements of the proposed new
rule.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
