Temporary Marketing Permits (TMPs) allow the food industry to measure consumer acceptance of foods deviating from standards of identity. Information, so obtained, can be used in support of petitions to amend the applicable food standards. The information collection associated with TMPs enables FDA to monitor the labeling and distribution of these foods in interstate commerce.
