CDC, in colloboration with the Agency
for Health Care Policy and Research and FDA, has been charged by
DHHS with evaluating the nationwide notification process for
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). CDC is colloborating with the various
organizations representing the blood collection establishments and
transfusion services, including the American Association of Blood
Banks, the American Red Cross, and America's Blood Centers. The
objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of the targeted lookback
for notifying prior transfusion recipients who received these
potentially contaminated units and the outcome of
their....
