On 11/29/99, the Community
Broadcasters Protection Act of 1999 was enacted. This Act requires
the Commission to give written notification to all LPTV stations
describing requirements for attaining Class A designation. The
Commission has developed a statement of eligibility for this
purpose. A LTPV licensee who intends to convert to Class A status
must complete the statement and submit it to the Commission. The
Commission will use the data to confirm that the licensee is
eligible to file an application to convert to a Class A LPTV
station.
