The CDC Tuberculosis Performance
Evaluation Program (TPEP) assess the performance of laboratories
that test the drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and
non-tuberculosis isolates which are agents of human infection. In
addition to the program performance evaluation, the basis for this
survey is to identify and characerize M. tuberculosis
susceptibility practices in various laboratory settings, assist
with developing standards for improving and ensuring that accurate
results are reported to health care providers involved in treatment
and TB control and prevention.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
