The Tobacco Use Supplement to the
Current Population Survey conducted by the Bureau of the Census
will collect data from the civilian noninstitutionalized population
on tobacco use and smoking prevalence, workplace smoking policies,
medical and dental advice to stop smoking, and changes in smoking
norms and attitudes. This survey will provide invaluable
information to government agencies, other sicentists and the
general public necessary for tobacco control surveillance and
research.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
