The United States Department of
Agriculture is responsible for controlling and eliminating domestic
diseases such as tuberculosis, as well as preventing the
introduction of exotic diseases such as foot and mouth disease
(FMD) and other foreign diseases. We are publishing a interim rule
to prohibit the importation of all used farm equipment into the US
from regions in which FMD exists, unless the equipment has been
cleaned free of all soil and other particulte material in the
exporting region.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
