Abstract: FMA needs information from applicants for disaster assistance in order to effectively evaluate their need for mortgage and rental assistance under the Mortgage and Rental Assistance Program.The program is authorized by section 408(b) of the Robert T.Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as amended. The program authorizes the Federal Government to provide Federal assistance to disaster victims who, as a result of financail hardship caused by a major disaster, are unable to continue payin g their rent and are in jeopardy of being evicted or forclosed.
