Terms of Clearance: The initial pilot survey would be distributed at 3 airport locations to about 5,000 air travelers, anticipating a response from less than 10% of the sampled travelers. Since the request comes with a more detailed survey justification, we want to be clear that we must carefully review this when TSA comes in with a larger survey where they intend to collect information at most large airports. We also caution, as TSA is aware, that the information from the pilot cannot be used to infer statistically valid inferences on p assenger satisfaction but is designed rather to help them shape a statistically satisfactory design for the larger project.
