Abstract: FTA will use the information for compliance purposes and to track the effectiveness of state oversight for rail fixed guideway systems. The accident reporting information will also be used by FTA to determine whether it will independently conduct an investigation of serious hazards as authorized by 49 U.S.C. Section 5329.
