This collection
is approved for a shortened clearance of two years. During that
time FNS will work with relevant agencies within the department to
streamline the application process by sharing information and
searching for other avenues of cooperation. Specifically, FNS
should work with FSIS and other relevant agencies to ensure that
manufacturers applying for a CN label without changing product
formulation will not have to wait for re-approval by FSIS or the
relevant agency--approval information should be shared across the
agencies.Additionally, other areas for streamlining should be
sought through collaboration with other relevant agencies. Further
approval will depend critically on substantial efforts in this
area. Current approval is consistent with revisions made to the
FSIS form (see fax from 5/6/03).
