This is a cross-sectional nationally representative study of the ethical problems encountered by registered nurses and social workers using a mailed self-administered questionnaire. This survey will involve 3000 healthcare providers in the United States. It is intended to provide information regarding the ethical issues experienced by nurses and social workers in the provision of patient care. Data will be analyzed using multivariate techniques and all data will be reported in the aggregate.
