The National Flood Insurance Act of
1968 requires that FEMA provide flood insurance so that the risks
associated with buildings in flood-prone areas are borne by those
located in such areas and not be the taxpayers at large. FEMA Forms
81-16, 81-17 81-18, 81-25, 81-67, the Request for Policy Processing
& Renewal Information Letter (RPPRI Letter), and the Renewal
Premium Notice are used to collect information needed for NFIP
policies to be issued and to accommodate the changing insurance
needs of policy- holders.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
