The costs attached to litigation are
relatively well documented. The particulars with respect to the
costs such as their magnitude or the sectors that they affect are
less prevalent. Of particular interest to Advocacy is the magnitude
of litigation costs which falls on small business. Better
information on small business' share of the burden imposed by
litigation costs will enable the Office of Advocacy to further
understand and document the obstacles faced by small businesses in
the U.S. economy. This will be accomplished by conducting this
voluntary survey of small businesses, and publishing the results in
a public research paper
