Abstract: Per NICS Final Rule 28 CFR, Part 25.9(b)(1),(2), & (3) the NICS must destroy all identifying information on allowed transactions. For this reason a Voluntary Appeal File is required to be established in order for the NICS to maintain information about the applicant to prevent future erroneous denies on extended delays.
