The USPTO developed the proposed
Patent Customer Transactional Survey to gather additional data
concerning three key drivers of overall customer satisfaction: the
legal positions of the examiners, the search functions of the
various Automated Information Systems, and problem resolution at
the USPTO. By gathering more detailed information about these
drivers, the USPTO will be better able to tailor customer
satisfaction improvement strategies that are efficient and
cost-effective. This is a voluntary mail survey, although the USPTO
plans to provide respondents with an online version of the survey.
