approved consistent with the revised supporting statement and
protocol of (12/15/05). The study design is appropriate for the
purpose of the study identified in the supporting statement.
However, in describing the data collected and results of the
analysis, FDA will clearly acknowledge that the data does not
provide nationally representative estimates of consumer attitudes,
knowledge, behaviors, etc. FDA shall submit any substantive changes
to the questions or data collection procedures after pre-testing
for OMB approval using the change worksheet (83-C).

The purpose of this proposed data
collection is to help enhance FDA#s understanding of consumer
response to carbohydrate content claims and related statements on
food labels. The study would be conducted over the Internet using a
sample drawn from a consumer panel. The sample size for the
experiment is 10,000.
