consistent with CDC justification that significant differences in
the regional composition of the groups that will be surveyed and
the number of sub-group analyses proposed justify the study burden

that future submissions should include materials which will
actually be used in the field for collection of information.

The purpose of this project is to
produce educational materials that encourage Hispanic women of
childbearing age to consume 400 mcg of folic acid daily in order to
prevent serious birth defects. This project will conduct 1)
one-on-one interviews evaluating existing folic acid educational
materials; 2) exploratory focus groups assessing existing folic
acid awareness, barriers and motivators to consumption; 3) concept
testing focus groups assessing draft messages; 4) one-on-one
interviews evaluating new draft educational materials; and 5)
evaluation of new drafts by material distributors.
