The Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) Program enables TSA to screen, select, train, deputize, equip, and supervise qualified volunteer pilots, flight engineers, and navigators to defend the flight decks of commercial and cargo airliners. Information collected as the result of this proposal would be used to assess the qualifications and suitability of prospective and current FFDOs, to ensure the readiness of every FFDO, to administer the program, and for security purposes.
