Based on Healthy People 2010
objectives, FDA has established as a goal a 25% reduction in the
occurrence of foodborne illness risk factors in the retail sector
by 2010. In order to assist state and local regulators and the
retail industry was achieving this objective, FDA has written two
manuals. These documents advocate voluntary implementation of HACCP
principles. Any information collection/record keeping is totally
voluntary and used for their own purposes. Respondents include
operators and regulators of retail and food service
establishments.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
