Under a special permit arrangement, registered importers must submit a plan to CDC for importation and quarantine if they wish to import cynomolgus, African green, or Rhesus monkeys. The plan must address disease prevention procedures to be carried out in every step of the chain of custody of such monkeys, from embarkation in the country of origin to release from quarantine.
