Sections 1703 and 1705 the Government
Paperwork Elimination Act (GPEA), Pub. L. 105-277, Title XVII,
require agencies, by October 21, 2003, to provide for the option of
electronic submission of information by the public. To advance GPEA
goals, online forms are needed to allow the public to request from
the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) research data, models,
materials, and publications as well as registration for scientific
studies and events. For the convenience of the public, the forms
itemize the information we need to provide a timely response.
Information from forms will only be used by the Agenecy for the
purpose
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
